Year 6 Leaders instated for 2025

The Year 6 Leaders for 2025 have been instated in a special ceremony at Christ the King School.

Christ the King School is fortunate to have an outstanding group of Year 6 students to lead our school community in 2025.

On Friday, 14 February, Year 6 took part in a beautiful leadership induction liturgy with their parents and guardians, where students were commissioned into this important role.

We look forward to seeing their wonderful gifts and talents used to guide young CTK School students throughout the year.

Well done Year 6.

Prep Enrolments for 2026

During Term 1, we are organising our Prep enrolments for 2026. To ensure we have sufficient places, we now require enrolment details from our existing families.

If you have a child due to commence Prep in 2026 (born between 1 July 2020 and 30 June 2021) and already have children attending Christ the King School, please ensure that the enrolment application together with a copy of your child's birth certificate and baptismal certificate is submitted via the school website by Friday, 28 February.

We have had many enquiries regarding enrolment for 2026 from new families already.

You can find the enrolment information on our website.

School fees for Term 1

School fee account statements for Term 1 will be issued in the coming weeks. Please keep an eye on your email inbox as the email comes from 'PGRA Finance'.

Existing families and new families wishing to use Direct Debit will need to complete a 'Direct Debit Request Form'. This can be downloaded from the Parent Portal or BCE Connect App, or hard copies can be requested from the School Office.

No further action needs to be taken by families at this time.

The Parent Portal Mobile App – BCE Connect

Parents and caregivers of CTK School are great users of our Parent Portal. The Parent Portal is a website consisting of key parent information and engagement opportunities at our school. Our parents are regularly on the portal for things like reporting a student absence, updating family contact details, looking at class pages, and accessing academic reports.

For most busy parents, the device you most frequently have access to is probably a mobile one such as a smartphone or tablet. To get quick and easy access to the Parent Portal, Brisbane Catholic Education suggests downloading the Parent Portal App called BCE Connect. It is closely integrated with the portal to provide parents with this valuable information in a mobile application.

BCE Connect Features

  • Announcements – Messaging service direct to our community
  • My Students – Key information relating to your children
  • My Details – Allows users to see and update their personal details online
  • Absence Reporting – With a few simple clicks, users can notify the school of an upcoming absence
  • Calendar – Users stay up-to-date with all the key dates in the school's calendar
  • Blogs – (Class Pages) Makes learning visible and promotes the celebrations in our community through an online blog.
  • Paperless permission forms – View and complete Parent Slips.

We encourage all our families to set up BCE Connect, which can be done simply by following the steps on YouTube.

Parking before school

A reminder for our parents, particularly for families with children in younger grades, that our Pick-up and Drop-off area on Addison Road is not for parking. From 7am to 9am and 2pm to 4pm, this area is signed as a Loading Zone, therefore drivers must stay with their vehicles. If you need to walk your child into school, please drive around the corner to find a park in Churchill Street. This way our Stop, Drop and Go Zone is not disrupted for other families.

Thanks to all families for your support in keeping all our families safe.

Have a great fortnight,

Damien

Prayer

Holy Father, God of Love,

You are the Creator of all things.

We acknowledge the pain an shame of our history

and the sufferings of Our peoples,

and we ask your forgiveness.

We thank you for the survival of Indigenous cultures.

Our hope is in you because you gave your Son Jesus

to reconcile the world to you.

We pray for your strength and grace to forgive, accept and

love one another, as you love

us and forgive and accept us in the sacrifice of your Son.

Give us the courage to accept the realities of our history so that we may build a better future for our Nation.

Teach us to respect all cultures.

Teach us to care for our land and waters.

Help us to share justly the resources of this land. Help us to bring about spiritual and

social change to improve the quality of life for all groups in our communities, especially

the disadvantaged.

Help young people to find true dignity and self-esteem by your Spirit.

May your power and love be the foundations on which we build our families, our communities and our

Nation,

through Jesus Christ our Lord.
